CAIRO, Ill. - Paul D. Donnigan, 84, of Cairo died Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at his home.
He was born Oct. 28, 1924, in Cairo, son of Owen David and Helen Witt Donnigan. He married Inez Adams.
Donnigan was employed 42 years by Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and member and past exalted ruler of Cairo Elks Lodge 651.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, attaining the rank of sergeant.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kelly Donnigan of Carbondale, Ill.; a son, Patrick Donnigan of Lebanon, Ill.; and four granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo. An Elks memorial service will be conducted at 7:30.
The funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Nan Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, Ill

Norman F. Duncan
Norman F. Duncan, 79, of 4049 Pine Grove Avenue, a life resident of the Port Huron area, died Monday in Port Huron Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Duncan was born April 4, 1884 in Rattle Run. He was a retired employee of the Port Huron Sulphite & Paper Co.
He was a member of Port Huron Lodge No. 261, IOOF.
Mr. Duncan is survived by his widow Zenna; three daughters, Mrs. Roy L. Mantikoski and Mrs. Bernard Olson, both of Port Huron. and Mrs. Loretta Shurkey, Marysville; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Stanley Vernon, Sarnia, and Mrs. Loren Hearn, Port Huron; three stepsons, Maxwell and Charles Tacie, both of Port Huron and Pfc.. Robert Tacia, with the U.S. Marine Corp. on Okinawa; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nine step grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Duncan, Marysville, and William Duncan, Port Huron, and two sisters, Mrs. grace Hurd, Detroit, and Mrs. Mina Sancrant, Monroe, Mich.
The remains are in the Arthur Smith Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday by rev. Donald R. MacLeod, associate Pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ.
Burial services will be conducted in Lakeside Cemetery under the auspices of lodge 261.

Margaret Ann Selby
Margaret Ann Selby, 81, of Port Huron, died Sunday, December 28, 2008.
She was born December 6, 1927 in Port Huron to the late Paul and Mabel Elsner and was a lifelong area resident. She married Stewart E. Selby on October 17, 1953 in Port Huron.
Mrs. Selby was a registered Nurse with Dr. Bailey's office for 39 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, macrame, and baking.
She is survived by her husband, Stewart; daughter, Linda (Scott) Wilber; son, Dean (Denise) Selby; seven grandchildren, Kenneth (Heather) Hunt, Mary Margaret (Ron) Hunger, William Hunt, Paul Hunt, Lori Hunt, Michael Selby and Nicole Selby; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Samantha and Ryan Hunt; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Leslie (Chris) Selby; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Selby and her sister and brother-in-law, Mozelle and Charles Smith.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 2, 2009 in Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. The Reverend John Carrier will officiate.
